Who We Are
We are a design led RIBA Chartered Architecture Practice focused on delivering considered creative design solutions for all our clients. Our growing client base, including private clients and developers has enabled us to take on some exciting new projects over an array of sectors.
Our team of talented Architects and designers work together and share their individual previous experience in the UK, Ireland and Australia. We have talented Architects who have achieved previous successes, such as most recently winning a RIBA London 2016 award for an extension in London. They bring their individual knowledge and experience to the team to enable optimum results to be achieved.
Our like minded team of designers are motivated and determined, with a shared passion for design, therefore our clients can be confident in our skills and track record for delivery of considered, well thought out projects.
Mulhern Iremonger Design Studios was formed by Niamh Iremonger and Colin Mulhern in 2015, who together have over 20 years of combined experience and expertise, in designing and delivering an expansive range of high quality and innovative projects.
Niamh studied both at the Dublin School of Architecture (DIT) and at the Bartlett (UCL), and has worked for a number of reputable architectural practices in Ireland and the UK, gaining experience in high end residential, commercial and educational projects.
After graduating from the Dublin School of Architecture (DIT), Colin accumulated his architectural experience working for recognised architectural firms in Ireland, Australia and the UK, in a variety of sectors, including residential, commercial and healthcare.

Our clients are our primary focus and our dedicated team work closely with our clients to provide innovative design solutions in a highly collaborative and communicative environment. We strive to understand our client’s key needs and our skilled team transform these needs into considered design solutions, problem solving throughout the process, ensuring our clients our extremely satisfied with the end result. This collaborative process is taken through to each and every consultant we liaise with in the Design Team to again ensure a smooth process for you and a top quality finish at the end of the day.
Ultimately we seek to meet our client’s ambitions, deadlines, and add value to their project through innovative design solutions that will stand the test of time. We carry out a holistic approach from inception to completion, providing beautifully crafted buildings that meet time and budget constraints, to exceed our client’s expectations.

What We Do
We are an Architectural practice who prides itself on delivering top quality design, down to the very last detail, for each and every project we undertake. We believe understanding our clients needs is key to unlocking the ultimate design solution for each unique project. We place an emphasis on carrying out a collaborative process to ensure we respond to our clients needs at every stage. Thoughtfulness, insightfulness, and problem solving are key parts of our process.
We have extensive construction and project delivery experience, both in the UK and abroad. Clients can be confident in our considered approach and talented team. We carry out projects over a range of sectors; including residential, conversions, refurbishments and our services include planning applications, project management, consultation and co-ordination of projects from inception to completion.

We believe Architecture and the Built Environment have a huge impact on how we perceive our world and more importantly how we enjoy it.
For us it is ultimately the end user of the built form that is always our primary focus and understanding their needs to provide them with an excellent space to live and enjoy their lives. A place that inspires, brings comfort and security and provides the end user with the most positive living environment possible.
Ultimately, we pride ourselves on delivering the highest quality of places for our clients along with ensuring a highly communicative and collaborative service throughout the journey, to ensure the best outcome is achieved for our clients.
Our Process
1) Preparation and brief appraisal to fully understand our client’s needs.
2) Concept design and feasibility studies to test and challenge ideas to find a unique, creative and innovative solution that responds to the clients brief, site and context.
3) Developed design and planning to ensure a successful outcome is achieved through close liaison with the relevant local authority.
4) Technical design stage to work closely with the consultant design team to ensure every last finite detail is considered and prepared carefully for construction.
5) Construction to oversee all of the carefully selected finishes and overall design is completed in a holistic manner, fulfilling our clients needs.
6) Completion to be at hand upon completion of the project to assist with any additional queries, to ensure our client is provided with a full and complete service.

'We hired Colin to design our house remodelling + adding ~100m2. We are VERY HAPPY with his services and STRONGLY RECOMMEND HIM. He just goes the extra mile that others may not do, while charging a very reasonable fixed fee (not % of contract).
Just putting it upfront - we have really quite pushed it with the design (people gasp when I show them plans and 3D pics) and still - PLANNING WAS A BREEZE (what's all the fuss about? ;)) This is thanks to Colin's knowledge of the rules, his advice and taking the time to go to a pre-app meeting at the council. 'Colin (MIDS) worked with us on three different projects for the house and we are very happy with all his work. On the main rear extension/loft conversion, work completed recently, he closely participated in the whole life of the project - from understanding what we needed, drawing up the planning documentation, communicating with the council, working out the tender package, meeting and guiding builders, to surveying the site biweekly to make sure the work was built in accordance with the design. 'We spoke with a number of architects for our project & having completed the project, I can say we are very happy with our choice of Colin & Niamh (MIDS) & would certainly recommend them.
Particularly in terms of the design stage of things, we found their input invaluable. They came up with a design for both our loft & extension which included things we just never would have thought of on our own. They gave us different options for both parts of the build & were happy to let us steer them based on our preferences.
