Garden House
Location: Crouch End
Type: Residential
Stage: Concept
Brief: Garden House
This project proposes the construction of a contemporary garden dwelling within the rear portion of a large L-shaped plot, occupying a previously underutilised area that extends behind a number of neighbouring properties.
The design has been carefully developed in response to the site's unique context, which is characterised by a mixture of garden structures, boundary treatments and light industrial-style buildings. Drawing inspiration from these surroundings, the proposed dwelling adopts a simple architectural form clad in natural timber, creating a contemporary yet contextually appropriate addition that integrates comfortably within its setting.
Designed as a self-contained residential unit, the dwelling seeks to maximise the potential of the site while providing high-quality accommodation and a strong connection to the surrounding outdoor space. The use of timber cladding introduces warmth and texture to the building envelope, helping to soften its appearance and reinforce its relationship with the garden environment.
Currently at Concept Design stage, the project is progressing towards the preparation and submission of a planning application.
