Works to this semi-detached residential property in Leytonstone were completed in 2024.

 

The project included a side infill rear extension, along with a new rear extension to replace a poorly constructed existing extension, to create a new open plan light filled living, kitchen and dining area.

One of the main challenges of this project was the shape of the site and the relationship between the dwelling and the rear garden/patio area, that was at a skewed angle to the existing house.

​

The design solution allowed for a rear extension with rear facing walls/openings that addressed both the original house and the skewed rear garden.​

​

To ensure the central areas of the ground floor interior received a good level of natural light, an external courtyard was created between the existing rear wall of the original house and the new infill extension.
