Located in the countryside just outside Wicklow Town, this project comprises a contemporary 1½-storey detached family home designed to respond sensitively to its rural setting while providing a modern and flexible living environment.
The accommodation includes three to four bedrooms, a spacious open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, a separate living room, three bathrooms and a utility room. The layout has been carefully arranged to maximise natural light, create strong connections to the surrounding landscape and provide adaptable spaces for contemporary family life.
Drawing inspiration from traditional rural forms, the design reinterprets the character of the Irish farmhouse through simple pitched roof volumes, clean architectural detailing and a restrained material palette. Large areas of glazing frame views across the countryside and enhance the relationship between the home and its natural surroundings.
The result is a contemporary family residence that combines modern living with a sensitive and considered response to its rural context.
